Ilene Marie Rathmann, 64, of Kansas City, MO, passed away August
10, 2003, at home. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday,
August 20, 2003, at Speaks Midtown Chapel, Independence, MO, with
Elder Kenneth L. Rathmann officiating.
Ilene was born September 9, 1938 in Independence, MO, to Herman
Walter and Mabel Ielene Epperly Rathmann. She graduated from
William Chrisman High School in 1957 and from Independence
Sanitarium & Hospital School of Nursing in Independence in
1960. Ilene worked for the Independence Hospital 38 years before
having to retire in 1998. She was a supervisor and clinic
coordinator for many years. She organized the first Intensive Car
Unit the hospital had and was designer of the next and then the
unit in the new hospital which was ICU, CCU, and Recovery.
Ilene lived her entire life in the Kansas City area and devoted
her life to serving others health needs. She is survived by her
brothers, Dennis H. Rathmann, Independence, MO, Kenneth L.
Rathmann, Columbia, MO and Richard R. Rathmann, Vassalboro, ME and
caregiver, Lillian J. Rose, K.C.,
MO.
